For the month of September, the cast of Nevere's Love Potion collaborated with playwright and director Annalise Cain and dramaturg Megan Lederman, to develop the characters and world of the musical. This performance will be the first ever live showing of Nevere's Love Potion, and Stages couldn't be happier to be presenting it with our fantastic high school performers.
Nevere is the brightest young witch at Spellwright School for Wizardry, she's got her best friend Taolo, a slightly annoying familiar Cletus, and her loving-if-out-of-touch mom--so why does she feel like something is really wrong? After a school assembly about the dangers of love potions, Nevere snatches her professor's spell book, just a week before the Spring Fling. While giving someone else a love potion may be kinda dicey, what if you could make a love potion . . . for yourself?
NEVERE’S LOVE POTION is a musical about consent, mental health, and the bravery it takes to ask for help.

I’s 2020, and sisters Jo and Riley have just moved into Grandma and Grandpa’s spare bedroom. Dad is deployed overseas and Mom is suddenly working 24/7 as an E.R. nurse. Spring Break has been extended indefinitely, the end-of-the-year musical has been canceled, and Grandpa hasn’t turned off the news in days. Follow along as Jo tries to get her younger sister's mind off of the chaos around them with the help of a dusty old copy of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Grandma’s clutter, and the power of their combined imaginations. With plenty of “happily ever afters,” a wealth of talking animals, and an extra dash of girl power, this play is sure to be fun for the whole family.
