What is the Teen Artists in Residence program?
Stages Bloomington Teen Artist in Residence is a free 2-semester performance / mentoring program for high school juniors & seniors as well as college freshmen. It offers performance opportunities, in-depth theatre experiences, and connections with theatre experts. No other theatre company in the area offers a program like it!
What do Teen Artists do?
Artists in residence serve leadership roles and have performance opportunities in Stages Bloomington main stage productions. Artists also work as staff assistants in marketing and community relations. Program also includes free trips to theatre performances, individual work with an acting coach, sessions with theatre production experts, and artist honorarium.
How do I become a Teen Artist in Residence?
Admission is by audition. Applications are available & due in early spring. Auditions take place in early spring with residency beginning in August and running through May. The program is open to teens in Bloomington and surrounding counties with a serious interest in theatre and who have vocal, dance, and acting experience. 2019-20 Artist Auditions: May 2019. Who is funding the Teen Artists in Residence program?
Major support is provided by Stages Executive Director, Pat Gleeson. Additional support has come from individual contributions, the Indiana Arts Commission, Bloomington Arts Commission, the Brabson Library and Education Foundation, and IU Department of Theatre and Dance.

There are several things you can do:
help spread the word;
encourage interested high school juniors or seniors as well as college students you know to apply to the program; and
