We are beyond thrilled to announce our collaboration with Reimagining Opera for Kids and Bridges Mayo Youth Orchestra to present the one night performance and short performance class for the youth opera:

 

MOOCH THE MAGNIFICENT!

​

"When the cleverest person in the room is ... the girl. MOOCH THE MAGNIFICENT is a 40-minute opera on a libretto by Scott Russell Sanders. The setting is a zoo of the future, populated not by animals but by robots in animal form. Mooch, an orphan girl, convinces the zookeeper to hire her to fix the robots when they break down, but she secretly reprograms them to be increasingly wild."

For this unique opportunity, stages performers will get to be mentored by and perform alongside professional ROK opera performers in a short opera. No previous experience with opera is necessary. Reimagining Opera for Kids' whole mission is based on making opera more accessible to youth, and they welcome anyone who wants to try it out with them!

Rehearsals are Tuesdays, Mar 31, April 7, April 14 and Thursday, April 16  from 7-8:45PM at Fairview Elementary

​

Performance is Tuesday, April 21st: call at 6:15PM for run-through and program is at 7:30PM

​
